The article linked below is really good. I’ve thought for a while that one of the things Christians in all ages need to cultivate in themselves and in their children is proper skepticism. We’re, by nature, like all humans, susceptible to the winds of any particular age. We believe way too much, way too fast. Dorothy Sayers talked about being victims of the last thing we read. Without this kind of skepticism, we’re left following the world and all it’s silliness which inevitably leads to sin and unbelief. Of course, it’s really hard to live this way because you’re constantly swimming upstream and you look and live differently than everyone else.
